My fellow Swedes, friends, and partners across the world,
Today, I stand before you as the newly crowned King of Sweden. It is with deep humility, pride, and a profound sense of duty that I accept this responsibility and I am thankful for trusting me again.
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my predecessor, King Coshi. His leadership alongside with his team have brought stability, prosperity, honor, and wisdom to our nation. He and the Cabinet guided Sweden through changing times with a steady hand, and for that, we are all in his debt. We are where we are because of his dedication—and we will carry that forward with respect.
But with every new chapter comes a new opportunity. And while we honor the past, we must always look ahead. There is always room to grow, to adapt, and to improve—not because the past was weak, but because the future demands more from us.
Under my reign, Sweden will remain a country of principles. Every agreement signed, every partnership made—we will stand by them. I want to be absolutely clear: Sweden keeps its word. Trust is not a currency we trade—it’s a foundation we build on.
That said, we will not remain passive when our interests are threatened. If anything or anyone chooses to deliberately stand in Sweden’s path, we will respond. We will stand up. Sweden does not seek conflict—but we will not back down from it if it is forced upon us.
From this moment forward, we will also invest deeply in those who wear our uniform. Our soldiers will finally have opportunities to test out their Weapons and Power—they will be supported, equipped, and cared for every day. They are the heart of our national defense, and they deserve the full weight of our commitment.
To our allies: You’ve been patient. You’ve hoped for a more active, engaged, and assertive Sweden. That Sweden is here now. You will no longer be met with silence or hesitation. You will meet the Sweden that stands tall, speaks clearly, and moves with purpose.
